This would serve as a means to avoid a scenario, where the user would view 10 articles on desktop + 10 on a mobile browser + 10 in a mobile app + 10 in Facebook (in-app browser) etc.
For anonymous users, this is currently not possible, but you can have server-side metering for registered users. Ideally, you would drive log-in sooner rather than later.
With the support of Identity Management, you can identify registered users within the same device but a different browser (e.g. Chrome or FIA - Facebook in-app).
You can let the user subscribe first, then create an account after that by using our frictionless/passwordless checkout. The customer doesn’t need to create a password, they can registerer with just an email address.
The downside is that if a customer wants to access their account on another device, they’d need to request a magic link to sign in or set their password in the My Account section.
