How Do I Log In to Piano Using SSO?

How Does SSO Login Work in Piano?

When your account is configured for SSO:

  • You authenticate through your organization's identity provider (IdP) using your company credentials.

  • Piano's Forgot password / password reset flow may be unavailable or may not send email.

  • Access is typically done via:

    • An SSO button on the Piano login page, or

    • An organization-specific SSO URL provided by your company.

How Do I Know If SSO Is Enabled on My Account?

You are likely an SSO user if any of the following occur:

  • You don't receive password reset emails, or the reset link never arrives.

  • You reset your password but the new password is not accepted on the standard login form.

  • You can only log in when using a company SSO portal or a dedicated SSO link.

  • Your organization recently changed policies and now enforces SSO, even if you previously used email/password.

What Is the Correct Way to Log In with SSO?

  1. Get the SSO login URL from your organization (IT/admin team).

  2. Open that link and sign in with your organization credentials.

  3. After successful authentication, you should be redirected back to Piano as logged in.

Option B: Use the SSO Option on the Piano Login Page

  1. On the Piano login screen, click SSO (often shown as a dedicated button or link).

  2. Enter your organization's identifier (often called an organization name, company label, or organization label).

    • Some configurations require the label to be entered in lowercase.

  3. You will be redirected to your organization's sign-in page.

  4. Sign in using your company/SSO credentials.

If you don't know the organization label, contact one of your Piano/SSO administrators internally.

Option C: Start from Email Recognition (If Available)

On some login screens, entering your SSO email address (sometimes with the password left blank) may trigger a redirect to your organization's SSO flow based on your email domain.

Why Doesn't Password Reset Work for SSO Accounts?

With SSO, your password is controlled by your organization's identity system, not by Piano. As a result:

  • Piano cannot send or honor password reset emails for SSO-managed users.

  • Any password change must be done through your organization (for example, your corporate password reset process).

What Are the Common SSO Login Issues and How Do I Fix Them?

I Reset My Password but Still Can't Log In

Use the SSO login path (SSO button or your organization's SSO URL). Password resets typically won't affect SSO authentication.

No Password Reset Email Arrives

This is expected for many SSO configurations. Use SSO to sign in, or contact your organization's IT/admin team to reset your corporate/SSO password.

SSO Login Fails or Returns a Server/Authentication Error

Check the following:

  • You are using the correct SSO portal/URL for your organization.

  • You are using the correct SSO credentials (company-managed credentials).

  • You entered the correct organization label (and correct casing, if required).

  • If your organization requires it, ensure you are properly logged into your organization's network/SSO environment before retrying.

If the issue persists, your organization's IT team may need to review the SSO configuration or your access in the identity provider.

Who Should I Contact for Help?

  • First contact: Your organization's IT department or internal Piano administrators (they manage SSO setup, organization label, and identity credentials).

  • Then: Piano Support (if your IT/admin team confirms the SSO details are correct and the issue continues).
