It's fine to update the Campaign's settings as long as it's before the campaign's Schedule timeframe starts.
Once the Campaign has started sending, changes are still allowed.
If you change the campaign's settings during the scheduled sending time, then a part of your users will receive the newsletter with the updated content. More information about the Campaign's setup is available under this link.
