How to tag Gestures (Swipes) / Notifications / Crashes?

Swipes

You can consider them as clicks and implement the appropriate tracking (Android and iOS documentation).

Notifications

Unlike web tracking, where URL parameters are automatically captured, mobile SDKs do not automatically retrieve URL parameters from push notifications or deep links. You must manually send marketing source information during the first event of a session.

  • At minimum, include src_medium and src_campaign to populate the "Source" and "Source-detail" fields in Piano Analytics

  • Use src_force: true to override any existing source if a user clicks a push notification while a session is already active

Crashes

You do not need to do anything; the information is automatically gathered by our SDK once the app is reopened. There are specific properties and metrics in the "Apps" category in Data Query and your Data Model that will allow you to view related data.
