This page collects what is not yet available in the Piano Stripe Billing integration, what is planned for release, and which Piano features stay outside the integration's scope.

For the features that are supported today, see Feature Overview. For the metadata Piano writes to Stripe objects, and for billing behavior and limits such as tax rounding, anchoring, and billing intervals, see Piano Metadata in Stripe.

Stripe Unsupported features in Piano

In this phase following products or features are not yet available and integrated with Piano:

  • Stripe Tax (Piano tax support is integrated as Stripe Manual rates at this stage)

  • Invoicing (Standalone Invoicing product from Stripe not currently integrated, which is different from Invoice generation in Billing)

  • Usage-based Billing and Product catalog created entities directly in Stripe

  • Quotes

  • Other features not explicitly documented as supported in this documentation.

Piano features not yet supported on Stripe Billing

These features are not yet available to use on "switched" subscriptions and will be released soon.

Coming Soon

These entries describe support under Stripe Billing, not the feature itself. Manual renewal, future start date, and renewable gifting already exist as general Piano features.

The ability to manually extend a subscription's billing period, available for dynamic terms in Checkout, MyAccount and Dashboard.

Stripe Billing support for Renewable gifting

Gift dynamic terms subscription with recurring billing.

Converting an unlimited access period of a dynamic term in Stripe Billing

This feature allows to convert an unlimited access period with conversions to an access period of another type (recurring or ending on a specific date) with the same billing and includes update of subscriptions active on this access period.

Billing Integration agnostic features

These features are not in scope of the Stripe Billing integration or are irrelevant as they continue to be managed in Piano.
