Why are there 2 postal code fields when adding or updating a card in My Account?

In the My Account tab under the cards tab, in some cases, there are 2 postal codes visible:

This happens when the billing country selected requires a postal code for the tax calculation, such as the United States.

The other postal code field next to the CVV of the card serves payment processing purposes based on the requirements of the payment provider (e.g. Stripe).
