What's the difference between the Notification and Support email?

Under Edit Business you’re able to configure your contact details:

Support email

Before using the Email Manager, you'll need to go to Edit Business from the Piano Dashboard to designate a support email (this is the email address from which your emails will be sent from and to which users can respond to). Once you've done that, you'll want to follow these steps to ensure emails sent through Piano appear to originate from your domain.

Notification email

In addition to sending emails to your customers, Piano will automatically send emails to the Notification email address you specify in Edit Business. We will inform you when important events occur.

Such as:

  • Purchases

  • Cancellations

  • Customer inquiries

  • Refunds

  • Account changes

  • Changes to your email domain settings

  • Webhook status changes

These emails are not being sent to customers, only to the publisher’s email address specified under the Notification email setting.

If you'd like not to receive any of the below purchase-related emails, you can uncheck the option Send an email receipt of every transaction:

  • Subscription cancellation

  • New gift purchased

  • Purchase confirmation

  • Purchase refunded

With the setting Send an email receipt of every transaction disabled, notifications about toggling off the auto-renewal will be sent anyway.

But no notifications about Subscription Management + Billing purchases (even for renewing subscriptions) will be sent.

Note, that notifications about the verifications of a user's external term access will be sent nonetheless.

Below you can see some examples of subjects for the types of notifications for each category.

Purchases:

User's access to <external service term> has been verified

Purchase confirmation for <resource>

Subscription Auto-Renewal confirmation for <resource>

Cancellation:

Subscription auto renew for <resource> disabled

Subscription Cancellation Confirmation

Refund:

Refund Order Confirmation

Account changes:

Your application has been approved

Customer inquiries:

Webhooks:
